ARTboretum - Pumpkin Carving Art

Yesterday, artist Nelson Hancock installed an exhibit of charmingly evil cucurbits (that's pumpkins of all shapes and sizes) on the slate patio just outside the Haggerty Education Center that is both whimsical and fascinatingly scary. The pumpkins will be on display through Halloween, so try to get over to the Arboretum to see them.

What's in Bloom

Our What's in Bloom list is maintained by a long-time volunteer at the Arboretum, Mr. Phil Dahlen. He writes with his last update of the season, "Flowers are still in bloom and are pretty, however, the berries and fall leaf color have taken over the main spot at the arboretum.

Thanks, Phil, for keeping us posted on the progress of nature's display at the Frelinghuysen throughout the year. See you next spring.

Pictures from 40th Anniversary Gala

We had a great afternoon and evening at the Friends 40th Anniversary celebration Sunday night. The caterers plied us with small dishes and wine. The speakers were witty and informative and it was fun seeing pictures of old friends at Friends events.
