 Spring is in the Air
Somebody heard our complaints about the cold spring and turned the thermostat all the way up. Boy, is it hot! Happily it should be much nicer for the weekend.
Our What's in Bloom list is updated regularly so check it out and take a few minutes from your busy schedules and walk around the Frelinghuysen Arboretum soon. Nature's splendor is worth pausing for regularly.

Annual Meeting & The Masterwork Camerata
A reminder -- The Friends 2011 Annual Meeting is this Sunday, June 12th at the Arboretum. It will feature many of the usual events (voting for new officers, talks, awards and goodies) but this year will hit the high notes with a concert by the Masterwork Camerata. The Masterwork Camerata is a choral chamber ensemble comprised of sixteen of The Masterwork Chorus' finest singers. Their wide-ranging repertoire includes pieces from the earliest known choral polyphony to adaptations of current pop and jazz. All members are welcome at the day's program which starts at 1:00pm.
 Gardening for a Lifetime with Sydney Eddison
On Wednesday, June 22nd garden writer Sydney Eddison's newest book "Gardening for a Lifetime" takes on the challenge of how to garden wiser as we grow older. Her lectures are carefully crafted, deeply rewarding and the product of two decades of teaching drama and a lifetime of gardening. Avail yourself of this opportunity to hear one of the superstars of horticulture's message of rest, renewal and hope for your garden and for you. Ms. Eddison will be signing books after the lecture.
