Announcements as of June 12, 2012

The Friends of Frelinghuysen Arboretum are proud to host dozens of events in the coming weeks, ranging from exhibits to photo classes to tours to informative programs on gardens and horticulture. Our full program is found on the Events Page of our website. Please browse there at your leisure, but here are some upcoming events that we would like to highlight. The Edible/Ornamental Garden

Last call for Edible Ornamentals this Saturday at 1pm! Here’s a sample of the images you’ll be seeing ____. Register online or by calling 973-326-7603.

Corn On and Off the Cob

Just a few spots are open in June 24’s Corn class – you will be thrilled to sample the new recipes Chef Cynthia Triolo has developed and make them for your family and friends this summer.

Iris Sale & Show

On June 30, The Iris Society offers many beautiful and unusual iris cultivars for sale. If you are looking to add iris to your garden, this is the place to shop. These healthy rhizomes make a wonderful gift as well.

Family Scavenger Hunts

The Family Scavenger Hunts offered on weekends are a lot of fun, especially for the digitally inclined youth of today. Bring your children and their digital cameras along for this month’s scavenger hunt: June Bugs! Just check in at the Haggerty Education Center’s Front Desk and the receptionist will get you started.

The LABYRINTH Is Coming

Beginning on Monday, June 18, please visit our LABYRINTH.

This new addition to our grounds is located just past the mansion in a quiet shady spot, just right for the contemplation that labyrinth walking requires. (We’ll post some images next week)

It’s just another reason to love The Frelinghuysen Arboretum!
