Plant Information Guides
Our Library friends at NYBG have launched new Plant Information Guides! They have compiled a series of web pages that address the most frequently asked questions about outdoor and indoor plant culture, selection, identification, sourcing and maintenance. The service provides valuable information on cultural requirements such as planting, fertilizing, pruning and propagation as well as assistance with landscape design inquiries. Additional information in the form of images, links to other relevant sources and websites, titles to books covering the subjects is included.
The Plant Information Guides can be found on the Mertz Library webpage under Search Our Collections: http://www.nybg.org/library/
Archetypes of Botanic Literature
What a nice resource this is! And our own library is not too shabby either! Learn about the Rare Book Collection on Sunday January 27 in another Member’s Only program to benefit the conservation of these books. Archetypes of Botanic Literature is not as boring as it sounds – goosebumps are guaranteed!
There are just a couple of spots open for a lucky few at Cynthia Triolo’s cooking program on Edible Sprouts scheduled for Sunday, January 20.
Plant Propagation Workshop
Everyone, from beginner to professional will learn something new at our Plant Propagation Workshop on Saturday, February 2. Nikki Graf from Rutgers greenhouses will share her tips and techniques – and you will make more plants!
Valentine's Day Is Coming Up
Just as one holiday ends, another begins. Join floral designer Marge Hulstrunk to make a Valentine’s Day wreath on Wednesday, February 6. Marge makes the journey to a completed dried flower wreath smooth because she thinks of everything.
