The Potting Shed – July

Sunday 07-05-15 12:00 am (Eastern) Noon - 1:00p

Location: Haggerty Center

Join the Horticultural Education staff every month for an informal look at some do-it-yourself garden projects.

On July 5, join Professional Floral Designer Marge Hulstrunk for a flower arranging demonstration. Marge will use flowers grown in the Cutting Garden at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum and put together some beautiful summer arrangements. Learn some floral arranging tips and techniques from the master herself.

Remember macrameÃÅ? Well, Kokedama is the new hipster version! Join Superintendent of Horticultural Education Lesley Parness as she demonstrates the art of Kokedama on August 2. By wrapping a plant in a layer of bonsai materials and moss and tying it up with various strings, an artistic whole is formed that is a lot more than the sum of its parts! Get busy with all your little plantlings and make some Kokedama!

On September 6th, Marge returns for a flower arranging demonstration showcasing seasonal fall arrangements.

Dates: Sunday, July 5, Sunday, August 2, and Sunday, September 6 – Reservations are not required. Rain cancels the program.

Cost: Free to observe the flower arranging, and $5.00 (payable at the event) to make a Kokedama
