Seedballs are a fun way to vegetate areas that are difficult to plant. We’ll be making seedballs for meadows, both wet and dry. Each seedball contains a variety of plant seeds especially selected for that ecotone, plus food and “vitamins.” Encased in their clay shell, the seeds await the spring rains and warmer temperatures before they germinate and grow.
First learn about seedball projects around the world. Then, roll up your sleeves and make seedballs for the Frelinghuysen’s meadow and for your own meadow. It’s messy, so dress appropriately.
For ages 6+, children must be accompanied by an adult.
