F-Stop High School Photo Contest Winners - 2011

We are were proud to sponsor a photo contest this year for high school students. The entries were wonderful and the judges had hard decisions to make. Visit the gallery in the Haggerty Education Center at the Arboretum through July 29th to see the entries.

Community Gardens

Our very-popular Community Gardens Conference last March led to numerous requests for information about local community gardens. As a result, we have posted the information on a new page which you can get to under the Resources menu tab above (click on "Community Gardens" under the Resources tab).

The Friends Go To Scotland

The Friends will be in Scotland from May 26th through June 5th. We will be tweeting and blogging all the way, so follow the twitter hashtag #fofascotland (or add your own tweets to that hashtag) or look for the blog posts on our Scotland page. We hope to keep everyone posted about our progress through "The Gardens of Scotland."

Don't Let the Weather Get You Down

Mother Nature teased us a little yesterday with a sunny, warm day which let our volunteer, Phil Dahlen make his rounds to update the What's in Bloom list.

It certainly isn't as nice today, but the buds and the blossoms are there. Take an antidote for the blah weather and walk around the Arboretum. It is in its full regalia, rain or shine.

It was the Best!

We say it every year, but this year we're really sure, It was the Best!

Mother Nature cooperated, the plants were terrific and everyone working on the 2011 Plant Sale were wonderful. Best of all, hundreds and hundreds of you came and made the sale a great success.

Junior Master Gardeners Tomatoes, Tomatillos & Peppers at Plant Sale

Our Junior Master Gardeners are proud to bring a number of special varieties of tomatoes, tomatillos and peppers to the Plant Sale. These will be offered throughout the Saturday portion of the Plant Sale. Be sure to see the wonderful varieties (click here for the list) and support the gardeners by buying some for your kitchen.
