Botanic Gardens from Coast to Coast and What We Can Learn from Them with Sue Acheson

Wednesday, June 5 - 7:00 PM

VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM

Join intrepid garden traveler, obsessive gardener and past Friends President, Sue Acheson, as she takes us on a Zoom tour of "Botanic Gardens from Coast to Coast." Sue will show seven public gardens from California, Colorado, Missouri, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, in all seasons and in a broad range of climate zones.

With inspiring, beautiful photographs from each, Sue will show what we can learn from each of these gardens to raise our home gardens to the next level.

All of these gardens are Sue's favorites, along with many others she will save for another day.

AT THE ARBORETUM

The red flowers of an Aesculus pavia tree (Red Buckeye), the delicate, white flowers of an Iris tectorum (Japanese Wall Iris) and the soft, fuzzy gray leaves of Stachys Byzantina cv. Big Ears (Lamb's Ears). Big Ears rarely blooms, but bees appreciate the small, non-showy lavender flowers when it does!

PARK INFORMATION

The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is a facility of
the Morris County Park Commission

• Frelinghuysen, Willowwood and Bamboo Brook Arboreta grounds are open 7 days a week, from 8am to dusk
• The Haggerty Education Center is open 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily except holidays.
• Parking is limited.
