Walking the Bible

Agronomist and bible scholar Dr. Jon Greenberg leads a tour of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum on Sunday, June 19 unlike any other.

His focus is plants of the bible and his knowledge in this regard is encyclopedic. Even if you know the arboretum grounds well, you will surely gain new knowledge about both the plants and the Old Testament.

Evening Concerts in the Garden

The evening of June 3 is our first of the Cottage Garden Concert series.

Here’s what classical guitarist Alan Rigoletto plans for the evening:

“This program will consist of music written from 1920 and up to the present, exploring both classical and pop/jazz styles from around the world.

I’ll perform the Chinese favorite "Butterfly Lovers," the Bossa Nova hit "Corcovado," and "Cavatina" by Stanley Myers and other 20th-21st century music from America, Venezuela, India, Cuba, and other countries from around the world."

On June 10, the indie inspired group Break Lights will be our featured artists.

Here’s how they describe themselves:

The Break Lights is an indie rock duo from Morris County. Comprised of singer-songwriters Michael Saiewitz and Jake Roggenkamp, the pair started playing guitar and writing songs together while attending high school and continued during breaks from college. Over the years, they developed a rich sound with layered harmonies, catchy melodies, and thoughtful lyrics. To hear the latest from The Break Lights visit
