There are just a few spots left for Poet’s Walk on Sunday, October 16.

You’ll need 1000 steps to counter the breakfast you’ll be enjoying. Home made everything: muffins, scones, egg strata, and French toast.

If you’d like, you can bring a home-made (original) poem to read too.

Fall Sweater Alert!

We are so pleased to announce that Talbots (fabulous women’s apparel) will donate 10% of pre-tax sales generated between 5 – 9 pm on Thursday, October 20 to The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum.

Attendees will receive the gracious service from wardrobe specialists that Talbots is known for.

Refreshments will be provided for guests. The store is located at:

Something Entirely Different this Halloween

Scary Plants, Scaredy Plants is an afternoon’s worth of HallowGreen fun!

Plant a carnivore, scare a vampire, make a spidery treat, plus lots more on Saturday, October 22.

Friday night, October 14 is movie night! Come see “Symphony of the Soil,” a lovely documentary about a most valuable resource – soil, with us.

Calling All Artists

Are you or your friend looking for a lovely venue to display your hangable botanical art?

The Gallery at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is accepting paintings or photography depicting botanical subjects like landscapes, trees and flowers. All pieces must be for sale and priced at $500.00 or under. Accepted shows hang in our Gallery for one month and receptions can be arranged. There is no entry fee, but The Frelinghuysen Arboretum collects a commission on pieces you sell.

Come visit our Gallery any month but December and see for yourself the array of beautiful types of art created by regional artists.

The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum: Board and Committee Opportunities

Small investments of volunteer time have a big impact on our worthwhile programs!

Finance Committee: We are looking for individuals having accounting, finance or business management background to participate on the Finance Committee. The Finance Committee is a small group of board members, operational management, and outside advisors that meets quarterly.

We provide support and advice on accounting and budgeting, internal controls, reporting and compliance, and related topics.
