After decades of breeding, Rutgers University released a new pink dogwood, the Scarlet Fire, the first Asian dogwood of its kind with deep pink color.
The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is so lucky to have been gifted one by Tom Molnar, Rutgers plant biologist. It has been planted in the holly & dogwood collection by the labyrinth (just past the mansion).
We’ll keep you posted on its progress in the months ahead.
