Saturday, September 29

Writing Haiku is one of the traditional arts and what better milieu to compose this spare and uncluttered form than in the gardens of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum.

Dr. Gerrish is the author of three collections of poems; her award-winning poems have appeared in many journals, anthologies and reviews. She was awarded an Edward Fry Fellowship for scholarship research work at Rutgers University and received an Ed.D in Literacy Education. She holds an MFA in Poetry from Drew University and teaches poetry workshops at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Please bring pen and notebook to the workshop.

Sunday, September 30

When we look really closely at a flower, whole new worlds of beauty and intricacy emerge. Teri Dunn Chace takes us on a journey that will make us feel we’re glimpsing the garden from an insect’s perspective.

Ms. Chace is a writer and editor with more than 30 titles in publication. She has also written and edited extensively for Horticulture, North American Gardener, Backyard Living and Birds & Blooms. Copies of Ms. Chace’s book Seeing Flowers, Discover the Hidden Life of Flowers will be sold at a 10% discount following the talk. Please don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

Although Fall is officially here, there are still many plants in bloom at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum! Also, the tropical plants will be moving to their winter quarters shortly, so be sure to visit soon!
