ATTENTION PLANT SALE SHOPPERS!!!

The Friends want to extend a huge thank you to all for the 200 or so plant sale orders we received - you have helped to make this a very successful fundraiser, we could not have done it without you!

If you have placed an order with us but still have not scheduled a pick up time, please do so at the link emailed to you earlier. Pick up times are available at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum on April 30 and May 1.

If you placed an order but did not receive an email with the scheduling link, please let us know ASAP by emailing us at: plantsale@arboretumfriends.net. Check your Spam folder first to see if the email landed there.

BLOOMING TODAY AT THE FRELINGHUYSEN ARBORETUM

Today's visit was rewarded with so many plants in bloom that it was difficult to choose what to include in this week's blast, but here they are. A gorgeous Red Baron Flowering Crabapple between the driveway and the Haggerty Education Center, a lovely Redbud shrub in full bloom and a closeup of the flowers of Fothergilla gardenii ' Blue Mist'.

SCHEDULE ANNOUNCEMENTS

PANDEMIC SCHEDULE

Morris County Park Commission has reopened the Frelinghuysen, Willowwood and Bamboo Brook Arboreta 7 days a week, from 8am to dusk.

  • Parking is limited. Buildings remain closed. Portajohns are available.
  • Please protect yourselves and fellow visitors by social distancing and by wearing masks.
  • HUNTING IN THE PARKS - Be aware that deer hunting is permitted in many of the MCPC facilities, including the arboreta, during the fall and winter. The schedule and type (bow or firearm) is listed on the MCPC website here.
