CORONAVIRUS ANNOUNCEMENTS
GARDENS REOPENED
The Morris County Park Commission (weblink here) has reopened the three horticulture parks with the following schedule:
Frelinghuysen Arboretum | Mon - Fri, 8am to dusk. |
Willowwood Arboretum | Mon - Fri, 8am to dusk. |
Bamboo Brook Arboretum | Mon - Fri, 8am to dusk. |
Parking may be limited. All buildings will remain closed. Porta-johns will be available.
All park patrons are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines. Wearing masks is also recommended.
We will keep you posted as further updates become available.
All Program Registrants Please Note: As all of our programs are being held virtually, the program fees have been modified and will not be as printed in the current issue of Arboretum Leaves. Please check our website before mailing us a registration check, to make sure your check is for the correct, lower amount. Thank you!
GINGERBREAD WONDERLAND 2020 GOES VIRTUAL
Celebrating 29 Years of Wonder!
The facilities at The Frelinghuysen Arboretum will remain closed through the end of the year so the Friends' Gingerbread Wonderland Planning Committee is busy working on how to bring you a Virtual Gingerbread Wonderland Display to celebrate the 29th year of this very popular show. You'll be invited to view photographs of each delectable entry and, through a donation process, vote for your favorite creation.
Chef Cynthia Triolo will present a special online gingerbread class (time to be announced) so you'll be able to hone your skills or learn new ones.

VIRTUAL ZOOM MEETING
The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum are happy to work with the Master Gardeners to bring you this FREE program.
Master Gardener, Diane Lattanzio, will answer the question: "Why are ornamental grasses so great?".
Ornamental grasses are drought tolerant, easy care, deer resistant, perennial foliage plants that can enhance your landscape, Diane will cover the growth habits, care, maintenance and uses of a variety of ornamental grasses in the garden. Handouts describing the characteristics and care of ornamental grasses will be provided.

Master Gardener, Ilona Ontscherenki will share information on how to plant bulbs in containers and what you can do to force bulbs to bloom indoors.

VIRTUAL ZOOM MEETING
Planning has been completed for the third annual Tree Symposium, in a new format via Zoom.
Speakers will present a range of intriguing tree-related topics at 7:00 PM, on five consecutive Tuesday evenings.
Rutgers Master Gardener CEUs as well as International Society of Arboriculture CEUs will be offered.
MORE BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS AT THE FRELINGHUYSEN ARBORETUM
